Eldercare and Hospice Symposium in Florida May 1-3, 2009

May 1st through 3rd join the Center for Compassionate Touch at the Caribe Royale in Orlando to celebrate the mutual benefits of massage therapy in eldercare and hospice.
In the last decade, massage therapy has gained recognition and acceptance in mainstream healthcare settings like hospitals, clinics, eldercare facilities and hospices. Our profession is expanding to answer the growing demand for therapists with training to serve diverse special populations. Elders in long term care and individuals in hospice care represent a growing clientele and specialized area of practice.

This networking event provides the opportunity to connect with pioneering, like-minded professionals including bodywork practitioners, massage educators, hospice professionals and long-term care professionals, including nurses, administrators and program directors, activities professionals, social workers, spiritual caregivers, physicians, and volunteer coordinators. Inspirational and informational seminars will include dynamic presenters such as Diana Thompson of the Massage Therapy Foundation and Irene Smith of Everflowing.
