This pure plant resin has its own soothing properties but is more commonly used as a fixative in a synergy to bind together very unstable, fragile "high notes" or rapidly diffusing essential oils. In this way Benzoin Resin actually keeps more of the ethereal floral and citrus notes intact within the blend. So for example add a little Benzoin to a floral blend and it won't fade or change as quickly over time. Due to its gentle sweet aroma, it is also used in addition to or as a substitute for Vanilla Absolute in synergies. Benzoin Resin is a must have for your aromatherapy tool kit.

This product is intended for use by trained professionals only. Do not apply directly to the skin. Dilute before use. Recommended ratio is 1 to 5 drops of essential oil per one ounce of carrier oil, lotion or cream. Do not take internally. Essential oils can be poisonous! Keep out of reach of children.

Benzoin is a resin so warm it up before using to help it flow. Put the tightly capped bottle into hot water from the tap and it will thin considerably for dispensing (this won't affect the integrity of the oil).
